We went to this cafe recently on our tour of the south island of Aotearoa. The staff in the cafe offer great service and were very efficient with the bus load of us coming in for lunch. Thanks again to all the friendly staff at this establishment. Highly recommend to have a whitebait sandwich. It is soooo good

Great scones, great coffee! My french friend complained at first after seeing the outside but it's much better than you would expect by just seeing the front! Would always come again.

We had 2 delicious BLAT's and a coffee each. Very friendly staff with a nice warm shop to come into from the rain. Come in if you're in the area!

We were looking for a place in town to grab a quick breakfast bite and some coffee before heading out to zip line. Stumbled onto Cafe 39, which exceeded our expectations. Coffee was excellent and my daughter’s iced chocolate elicited wows. Best of all, our meat pies were delicious! Best we’ve had in NZ so far. Would definitely return here the next time we’re in the region. Wish I’d taken a photo before we gobbled up the pies.

The portion for Big Kiwi can be improved given the price($24) for value. Cappuccino which we ordered was not that flavoury and strong/rich enough. Pie taste was good. The atmosphere was good tho.

Whitebait fritter with some chips was good, so was the waffle. The service was very friendly and kept us informed when they had ran out of blueberries and needed to amend the order. Seating available indoors and outdoor. There is undercover eating at the back.

Coffee is good Food took ages to arrive Pancake has no extra sauce and butter so is a bit dry. Reasonable price and big serving No outdoor seatings

Friendly lady who served us. The food is great. I ordered Egg Beni and I couldn’t complain, the eggs cooked perfectly and a mouth watering dish presented
